My Rating System

Let’s talk about rating systems. It’s going to be a little different for everyone. Sometimes that can be frustrating, especially if you don’t have anything else to compare their rating to. Here is my rating system that I use for all of the books I review. Hopefully it will give you an idea of what I’m talking about when I give something a rating out of 5 stars!

5 stars - I absolutely loved everything about this book and would change nothing. It was perfect read and something I would definitely consider picking up to reread

4.5 stars - Almost a perfect book. There were a couple of things that I didn't care for, but I was able to mostly ignore them because the story was so good

4 stars - Really liked the book, but there were a couple of things that I didn't love and couldn't get over. Some flaws, but overall an enjoyable read

3.5 stars - I was expecting more from this book. It wasn't bad, but it also just didn't live up to my expectations.

3 stars - It wasn't my favorite book, but it definitely has some redeeming qualities. I probably wouldn't read it again, but it wasn't terrible

2.5 stars - I didn't really like this book that much. It wasn't the most terrible thing I have ever read, but I have no interest in reading it again any time soon

2 stars - I didn't like this book. Most likely finished it out of spite and I didn't enjoy a single second reading it

1.5 stars - Things can always be worse, I guess? I hated this book, but some things aren't the worst thing I have ever read. Most likely DNF

1 star - Most likely DNF, but not always. There are no redeeming qualities in this book and I hated everything about it. If I finish it, it is definitely out of spite

I hope that this helps give some context to my reviews!
